A few days ago i have moved to Falls Creek (1600m of alt.) - Mecca of australia´s distance runners. This area is set in a beautiful alpine climate of the victorian Snowy Mountain Range. At this stage there is plenty of world class runners to train with along many grass and bush trails.
On the bike there was a nice surprice waiting for us - ewly sealed asphalt road leading on the mountain plateau which will help us to diversify our sessions apart from the gruelling 30km climb from the town of Mt. Beauty. Another challenging rides present climbs to Mt. Hotham or Mt. Buffalo both featuring about 1000meters of elevation. Our swim training is situated either to the Falls Creek dam, which is notorious for the cold water or the Mt. Beauty swimming pool with its unusual lenght of 33,3 meters!
First race is waiting for me on the 7th of February Ironman70.3 in Geelong near Melbourne.
